Founded in 2022, St. Hedwig's SAL Squadron 539 pays tribute to the service and sacrifices of veterans. Their initiatives focus on promoting American traditions and values, enhancing the well-being of our nation's children, supporting veterans and their families, and instilling the principles of good citizenship.

Meeting & Membership Info
Sons of the American Legion meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm.
Membership Requirements:
To be eligible for membership, a person must be a male descendant, adopted son, or step son of a veteran who served honorably. If the veteran is living, he/she must be a current member of the American Legion. If the veteran is deceased, please see below for acceptable documentation of their service.

Print out & complete the MIDDLE membership form

If the veteran is deceased, attach a copy of the veteran's proof of service. Acceptable documentation includes:

Official Military Orders

Official Military Service Citations/Awards

Letters related to the veteran’s military service (must be on official government letterhead)

Certificate from the VA records center in St. Louis

DD Form 214 Discharge Papers (not issued until after the Korean War - can be requested through the National Archives)

Data from the back of older discharges
