JOIN THE AMERCAN LEGION

Membership Requirements:

 

To be eligible for membership, a person must be a veteran of a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and have served during a period of war as defined by the Congress of the United States of America. Eligibility dates are:

April 6, 1917                 November 11, 1918        

*December 7, 1941       Today                              

*LEGION Act signed into law; President Trump signed a bill July 30, 2019 that declares the United States has been in a state of war since Dec. 7, 1941.  Now that the legislation has been signed, The American Legion’s eligibility criteria immediately changed from seven war eras to two: April 6, 1917 to Nov. 11, 1918, and Dec. 7, 1941 to a time later determined by the federal government. No other restrictions to American Legion membership are changed.

go to the MEMBERSHIP FORM (fill in PDF),
print it, fill it out, and mail it to the address provided or bring it to American Legion Post 539.
